Rising Highlands: Gito Badara Discovery Tour – Departing from Trabzon

Our first stop is the Ortan Bridge, a remarkable structure located in the Çat Valley of Çamlıhemşin district, Rize. This ancient bridge, with its circular arch design, connects the Ortanköy and Armanlı neighborhoods, forming a link between Hemşin-Üsküt Pass and Çamlıhemşin. After approximately an hour's drive, we arrive at the Gito and Badara Highlands, situated at an elevation of 2070 meters in the Çat Valley. Witness the awe-inspiring panoramic views of the Kaçkar Mountains, Altıparmak Mountains, and Toros Mountains. Indulge in a delicious lunch amidst the beauty and serenity of Gito Highland.

Following our time at Gito, we proceed to the enchanting Şimşir Forests, where you can revel in the peaceful ambiance and take more scenic photographs. Our next destination is Palovit Waterfall, one of the highest-flowing waterfalls in Rize, cascading from a height of 15 meters. Experience the mesmerizing beauty of this natural wonder.

Concluding our visit to Palovit Waterfall, we head to Zil Castle, perched atop a steep rock formation on Avup Mountain. Built approximately 750 meters above sea level and around 100 meters above the riverbed, Zil Castle offers a captivating sight. Originally named "Zir Kale," meaning "Lower Castle," it earned the nickname "Zil Kale" from the local community. We conclude the day's adventures at this historic site.
